Overview of Business:PayLess DrugStores provides pharmaceutical products and professional services. Drugs are packaged and labeled in the PayLess processing center and delivered each day to health care facilities and outside customers. Medical Administration Records (MAR’s) provide daily schedules for administration of medications and physician’s orders for resident care. PayLess Drug Stores, Inc. is headquartered in Portland, Oregon.
Challenge:PayLess wanted to replace their paper-based system for delivering MAR’s to health care facilities with a Web-based solution to increase delivery speed and customer satisfaction while lowering operating costs.
Solution:ServerLogic achieved these goals by developing PayLess MedCheck, a custom, data-driven web application for PayLess Drugs. Each day the application receives encrypted medical data, decrypts it and then imports it into secure databases. Data integrity is checked and alerts are emailed to report any problems, which may have occurred with data importation. Authorized personnel gain access by logging in with the appropriate user id and password. Daily updates, MAR’s and other reports may be viewed and printed at the facilities. Formatting distinctions (such as landscape or portrait printing) are customized to fit the needs of each particular facility. Administrative tools are provided for authorized staff to manage access and selected content.
